I wish to convey my deep appreciation...

I wish to convey my deep appreciation of the magnificent work being done for servicemen and servicewomen in the United States by Christian Science Wartime Ministers and the Camp Welfare Activities of The Mother Church.

My son was about seven years old when he began attending the Christian Science Sunday School, and he has relied on Christian Science entirely since that time.

Recently, while stationed in a naval aviation base in Northern California, he was sent to sick bay with an infected ear. He was placed in the isolation ward because the doctors feared it might be infantile paralysis or spinal meningitis. The Christian Science Wartime Minister was called and visited him immediately. The Wartime Minister was told by the doctor in charge of the case that he could not understand it, but the patient could not even swallow a pill. The Wartime Minister replied that the young man probably never remembered taking a pill in his life. He also told him that Christian Science students are taught to obey the law of the land, and that they know that while they are in the service they must obey the requirements of their superior officers.
