My Prayer
Dear
God, give me the strength to stand unmoved
When false beliefs would argue for the wrong;
Teach me to know the truth that Jesus proved
Would free mankind and bring to earth a song.
Make me more grateful for each cleansing tear
To wash my eyes of error's blinding dust,
That I may see with vision growing clear
The perfect man, then rise to holier trust
In Love divine, till self shall gladly yield
Obedience to Thy call to reach faith's goal;
To know Thy presence, as a light, a shield,
Enfolds, forever, man at one with Soul.
Then, in the throng of jostling thoughts that press,
I too shall feel Thy touch to heal and bless.
