Some time ago a difficulty developed which appeared to be kidney trouble. The situation grew worse until it became exceedingly painful and difficult for me to get around. In fact, I was almost incapacitated.
Then I had some treatments from Christian Science practitioners, besides of course doing some work myself. The difficulty began to diminish, and at the end of about six weeks I was entirely free from the trouble.
Two or three months later I found, one morning, that I had an acute pain in my right lung. This may have been pleurisy. However, instead of accepting the condition, I denied it as thoroughly and as intelligently as I knew how. Then I argued for the truth of being, as revealed in Christian Science: that God is All—infinite, ever-present Mind, Spirit, Life, Truth, and Love, and that man is God's image and likeness, spiritual and perfect, reflecting the divine Ego and nothing else. Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 481), "Man is tributary to God, Spirit, and to nothing else." The day following, the pain left me.
