Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Alma, Michigan (First Church).

At special services held on Sunday morning. December 19, 1943, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Alma, was dedicated in the presence of a large crowd.

On April 1, 1900, a small group interested in the study and demonstration of Christian Science met in the Women's Relief Corps Hall and organized First Church of Christ, Scientist, Alma. Two years later a room in the Ellison Building was rented and furnished. Services were held here until 1909, when a change was made to the Knights of Pythian Hall, where they were held until 1915. For a few months following this, the group met at a private home until a room was secured over the Alma State Savings Bank in September. 1915.
