"While it is called To day"

Lord, Thou hast given us this day
In whose clear light,
Showing Thy might,
We can most gratefully believe
That all the good for which we pray
We shall receive.

Dear Lord, we have this day Thy bread
That we may share
Thy love and care
With every yearning, hungry heart.
These then shall know, by mercy fed,
How near Thou art.

Give us, dear Lord, the grace to see
Good here at hand,
And understand
How vain for future gifts to pray.
Since each tomorrow's dawn will be
Thy gift—this day.
