"Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.... Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" These verses from the one hundred and seventh Psalm are most applicable to my experience. I trust I am fulfilling the second verse in giving thanks for all the blessings I have experienced since becoming a student of Christian Science.

I turned to Christian Science for the healing of a deep sore caused by varicose veins, for which doctors, and even a specialist, could not promise me a healing. I felt that I could not stand such suffering for another six months. Some time before this the words "Christian Science" had come to my thought. At that time I knew absolutely nothing about the subject. But I struggled along until the specialist gave me his verdict. Then I went to a friend and asked her if she knew anything about Christian Science. She said she had read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and told me of a practitioner. I called on this practitioner, and she started to give me treatment.

At first I found it hard to give up the medicine which I believed eased the pain even though I knew it would not heal. But the practitioner soon convinced me that I must seek God with my whole heart, if I expected a healing. I had believed I could not take a step without having my ankle bandaged, but after I discarded the salves and bandages I was healed in a very short time. Since then, when problems have arisen, I have only to think of this experience to take courage to go on and overcome them.
