Petition

Teach me how to yield, dear Father,To Thy great and holy power;Humbly do I ask it of TheeAs I listen hour by hourFor the holy inspirationWhich to man Thou dost impart,That which purifies and cleansesThe repentant human heart.

Self-esteem and all things mortalAre the dreams that would deceive.Make me willing to relinquishAll the earthly make-believe.So with thought at one with Spirit,May it be my constant aimTo perceive my Father's allnessAnd forsake the earthly claim.
