The knowledge of Christian Science is my greatest blessing. I am very grateful to God and to Mary Baker Eddy for revealing a religion that heals as Christ Jesus healed. Its healing power has been proved to me and to my family many times.

I first heard of Christian Science while visiting in the home of a friend, a Christian Scientist. A kettle of boiling water was inadvertently poured over one of my feet. My friend knew the truth for me, and asked me not to take the shoe off or do anything to my foot for a while. I obeyed. When, after three hours, I went to my room to remove the shoe, I found my foot quite uninjured.

My grandmother was sick at the time with gallstones. She had been troubled most of her life with attacks of this disease, and many times we felt she would pass on during one of them. My friend told me to buy a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for her. My grandmother was entirely healed through her first reading of this book. She studied every free minute, and put into practice what she learned. Through her own understanding she healed herself of three broken ribs. Later she had pneumonia. A friend who called me to go to her said that my grandmother could last but a few hours. I went to her side and asked whether or not she wanted me to call a Christian Science practitioner. "No, my dear," she said, "God and I have worked out many things together and I am sure we can this time." In three days she was up, doing her own work and glorifying God.

Early one morning I was taken with a severe pain in my stomach. I applied the truth the best I knew for myself, but to no avail. At night I called a practitioner. I was in such pain it was hard to understand what she was telling me. But this much I retained: "You are the expression of Truth and Love, and nothing can touch that expression." I went to my room to be alone and think this out. In ten minutes I fell asleep saying the above words over and over. When I awakened an hour later I was entirely free. My family and I were very grateful for this healing.

I have witnessed many healings through Christian Science, of heart trouble, rheumatism, fallen arches, felons, broken bones, fever, growths, lung trouble, boils, burns, and other difficulties.

I am very grateful to God for His loving care and protection. I am grateful for the practitioners who have been so kind and patient with me, and tenderly guided me out of the bondage of great fear of many things, including thunder storms, crowds, cities, subways, doctors, hospitals, and darkness. These fears did not vanish in a moment. It took much prayer and study on my part, but I was earnest and eager to find the peace "which passeth all understanding."

I am sincerely grateful to Mary Baker Eddy for revealing the truth to the world; for all our Christian Science literature; for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; for being active in church work; for class instruction from a teacher near and dear to our Leader.
