That God knows the thoughts...
That God knows the thoughts of the heart was proved to me very conclusively in the first months of my study of Christian Science.
I had suffered from a severe pain in my head for several months and had been having help from a Christian Science practitioner. During this time a number of physical ills, including gall bladder trouble and diseased tonsils, were healed. My baby, who was on the verge of passing on from influenza, was restored to health through Christian Science treatment, but the pain in my head continued. One Wednesday evening while listening to the testimonies in church, I kept thinking, "If only this pain would leave, what a wonderful testimony I could give." Instantly the thought came: "But what about those other healings? Are you not grateful for them?" I rose to my feet with a heart filled with joy and gratitude just as the Reader announced the closing hymn. I sat down again without having said an audible word. I did not lose that inspired thought for some time, and after several days I suddenly realized that the pain in my head was gone, and it has never returned.
This occurred over twelve years ago. I am very grateful that our revered Leader restored the Science of Christ to this age and gave us definite rules to follow in demonstrating the truth. I am also grateful for the practitioners who are willing to help and are so patient in their work, and grateful to my Father-Mother God for His constant loving care.—(Mrs.) Florence Wiseman, Algonac, Michigan.
