Over twenty years ago I was...
Over twenty years ago I was healed through Christian Science treatments of asthma and rheumatism. After a few years I ceased studying this religion because of opposition on the part of a member of the family.
In May, 1940, I went to a physician, who examined me and said that I had an advanced case of cancer. I was afraid this might be the verdict and had put off going until the pain was unbearable. The doctor did the best he could for me, treating my foot and side with radium for some time. I was severely burned but the pain did not lessen. At last he told me that this type of cancer had never been cured and that he could not help me further. I asked him if he believed in prayer and he said he did, so I said, "Well I shall ask God to help me." My sons then took me home, fully expecting me to die.
