Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
The Bulletin
Pompton Lakes, New Jersey (First Church).
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pompton Lakes, held two dedicatory services on Sunday, June 4, 1944.
In 1921 a small group met in a home to study the Lesson-Sermon. In 1922 the first regular meeting was held in the Einstein Memorial Library of Pompton Lakes. The group was recognized as a Christian Science Society in 1923. In April, 1934, the construction of a building was begun, and the first service was held there in August. The site was given as an expression of gratitude for the healing of one of its members.—The Bulletin.
