Christian Scientists consider it their duty and privilege to respect at all times the religious beliefs of others. Their attitude may be stated in the words of Abram to Lot, "Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren." Students of Christian Science are content to be judged by its healing and regenerating effects in their own lives and in the lives of those who come into contact with its teachings.

Your correspondent is very much out of date in his statements regarding Dr. Quimby. As long ago as 1883 a case was heard in the United States Circuit Court in Boston, in which a defendant alleged, among other things, that Mrs. Eddy's copyrighted works had been copied from manuscripts originally composed by Dr. Quimby. The defendant was unable to offer any evidence, and a judgment and decree was drawn in favor of Mrs. Eddy, who was also awarded the costs of the action. The assertion regarding Mrs. Eddy's use of drugs is equally untrue.
