Radio Program

A Christian Science program was conducted from Station WEAF, New York City, on Sunday, January 10, at 8.30 a.m., Eastern War Time, by Walter W. Kantack of New York City. This program was given under the auspices of the Committee on Publication for the State of New York and had the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. The "Symphonic Four" quartet, under the leadership of Don Steele, furnished the music for the broadcast.

The program opened with Hymn No. 391 in the Christian Science Hymnal. Then Mr. Kantack read an address on "Finding Ourselves," substantially as follows:

Anyone who has traveled even a short distance along what we call the path of life knows that in some instances things are not as they may appear to be. However good our intention, many of us frequently find ourselves chasing will-o'-the-wips. The dazzling vision either bursts or collapses at just about the point at which we expected it to bear such good and enjoyable fruit. However, an intuitive sense that there surely must be a right way and a truth about existence compels us to try again, and we, today, are the beneficiaries of the persistent efforts of those who have gone before. One of the really valuable contributions to human progress by such pioneer thinkers has been the discovery that the thoughts we entertain about ourselves and our affairs very largely determine our experiences and, as our sense of things improves, our experience improves correspondingly. As one wise man put it, "As he [a man] thinketh in his heart, so is he."
