Chaplains

Among the chaplains in the United States Army there are at present twelve Christian Scientists. They have been certified by The Christian Science Board of Directors as qualified, and commissioned by the War Department, within the past two years, and they are now in active service with the military forces of the United States. It is expected that others will be added to this number from time to time.

The chaplains serve men of all denominations, assisting in non-denominational services, educational activities, athletics, recreations, visiting the sick, and general morale building. They accompany their units wherever they may go. As representatives of the Christian Science church they also arrange for and conduct Christian Science services in their own units and respond to calls for counsel, advice, and Christian Science healing.
