[The Biblical citations given in the Christian Science Quarterly are from the Authorized King James Version. The Bible Notes in these columns can be used, if deemed necessary, to elucidate some of the words or passages contained in the Bible Lessons. The Notes in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon designated to be read in Christian Science churches on February 14, 1943.]

"My foot hath held his steps" (Job 23:11)—Dr. Davidson, in his Commentary on the book of Job, suggests the alternative rendering, "My foot hath held fast to His steps," and then adds, "i.e., followed closely to his footsteps." Moffatt suggests the rendering: "I have kept closely to his footsteps."

"The Lord will give grace and glory" (Ps. 84:11)—The Hebrew word "chen" can mean "favor" or "elegance" as well as "grace"; while "kabod" (which is here translated "glory") can also mean "abundance" or "honor."
