True Security

Men and women the world over are reaching out in every direction for a sense of permanent safety, for an answer to the manifold problems of present day human living. All must eventually learn the futility of laying up treasures "Where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal." When will humanity learn that earthly treasures are not enduring?

During the last decade alone many of the material things which have been considered invulnerable have been destroyed. Certain types of financial investments, for example, which have been looked upon as having the greatest factors of safety have in some instances been pronounced worthless. More recently some of the so-called impregnable material fortresses have fallen.

It is becoming more and more evident, therefore, that an awakening from a false sense of security is the major human problem of the day. Paul, in Athens, declared, "He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; ... in him we live, and move, and have our being." How reassuring is Paul's conviction that there is only one sure motive power for constant right activity! The divine plan does not include shortage or inflation, but an unvarying, neverending flow of good. So let us refuse to waste our time wondering about food, clothing, or transportation problems of tomorrow. "The people of his pasture," relying on Him, are adequately fed. Our Father-Mother God supplies every need; not what human will has outlined, but every needful good is ever at hand.
