In your "Reading a Columnist's Mail"...

Journal-Times

In your "Reading a Columnist's Mail" there appeared recently an article by a clergyman, in which he challenges a statement made by a Christian Science lecturer in a lecture delivered in the Christian Science church at Racine.

When a particular sentence is selected for criticism without its modifying context, it is likely to be misleading. This evidently is what our critic unwittingly did, and I feel sure that he will welcome this corrective statement in the interest of Christian fellowship.

In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus very definitely pointed out that material things or benefits required by mankind are supplied by looking away from the material sense of things to the spiritual when he said, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
