Home

In a world struggling with material illusions which attempt to distort the true hues of divine reality is heard an increasing cry for a true sense of home, for that standard of living which enables men to dwell in love, harmony, and good will. The growth that humanity enjoys today in this line of endeavor has come through trusting more to God and His ways. This reliance has brought rich blessings into every individual heart listening for spiritual guidance. Mary Baker Eddy was divinely inspired to gain these blessings of spirituality and so to share them through her writings as to bless the whole world. This glorious revelation shows that the kingdom of harmony, or heaven, which we entertain in spiritual thinking, constitutes our home and enables us scientifically to demonstrate the kingdom of heaven on earth here and now. Mrs. Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 254), "Pilgrim on earth, thy home is heaven; stranger, thou art the guest of God." This is the truth which Christian Science reveals to us as practical.

The demonstration of a true and satisfying sense of home, of stability, happiness, and joy, begins and continues in our consciousness. It is joyously attained by the uplifting of desires, the purification of thought, the gaining of spirituality. The dragon, or error, of this hour calls loudly to us to accept as real the evidence of sin, fear, unhappiness, war, and death. This is but the hell that sin, or error, creates for itself. Evil has no place in God's allness. It is not known to man, God's idea. The individual demonstration of home is a denial of the dragon and its lies, for our increased spirituality, intuition, and love destroy the dragon's claims.

The student of Christian Science is enabled to uncover and eradicate the false testimony of sense with the revealed truth of God's creation. This spiritual reality is our true home; and it is manifested to human sense by the living of Life and Love in our hourly activities. The erroneous arguments rankling in mortal thought, expressing themselves in personal, national, and international vagaries, tend to withhold us from our spiritual heritage, the abiding consciousness of Love. The active demonstration of Love will bring about a reversal of the claims of hell, mortal belief. The establishment of the true sense of home is consummated by this twofold mental activity—the denial of every suggestion opposed to the perfection of our real being, and the grateful affirmation of Love's divine presence and upbuilding.
