Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Oklahoma.

The friendly relationship existing between Assistant Committees and the editors of Oklahoma newspapers has enabled us to secure much valuable space for our press material. Passages selected from the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and prepared in a manner acceptable to editors continue to be a helpful form of publicity. At the present time seventy-one newspapers in the state are using these as items of news. Approximately thirty-six hundred excerpts from the Lesson-Sermons appeared during the year, some of them in newspapers published in towns where there is no Christian Science church.

In Oklahoma one hundred and seventy-six editors receive The Christian Science Monitor under the plan whereby a subscription to the Monitor is exchanged for advertising of the Monitor in the editor's newspaper. About seventy per cent of these subscriptions go into communities where there are no Christian Science churches or societies.
