Twelve years ago I was confined to my bed with acute rheumatism. After I had been ill four or five months under medical care, and was growing steadily worse, I pleaded with a dear friend, a student of Christian Science, to help me, and she took up the case. Two weeks after she began treatment, I experienced an instantaneous healing.

When I attempted to move, the pain was all gone. I was able to get up, dress, and take care of my family. I was completely healed, and have never had a return of this trouble. I shall never cease to be grateful for this healing, for it afforded positive proof that Christian Science heals. Words cannot express the mingling emotions of joy and humility that I felt in the presence of the power of God.

I have had many other healings, including that of concussion of the brain following an automobile accident. I was completely healed of this trouble in four days.

I can truly answer "Yes" to the three questions Mrs. Eddy asks in the Communion Hymn (Poems, p. 75):

"Saw ye my Saviour? Heard ye the glad
sound?
Felt ye the power of the Word?"

There can never be a question in my thought but that this great truth was a revelation to Mrs. Eddy, who taught us better to understand God, the words and works of Christ Jesus, and the whole Bible.

I am more and more grateful each day for Christian Science, for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for class instruction. I am also grateful to the dear friend who first helped me in the study of the truth, and to the practitioners who have helped me along the way.
