I would add my praise and...

I would add my praise and gratitude to the great stream that flows from the heart of healed humanity in recognition of the effect of the understanding and utilization of spiritual truths, as revealed in Christian Science.

As an obedient churchgoer, I had reconciled myself to unanswered questions about life, until a poignant loss made me dissatisfied with continued evasions. It seemed too foreign, even to my limited sense of fatherhood, for a loving Father to give His child a great joy for a tantalizing moment, only to take it away. This rebelion against empty statements brought about an inquiring mental attitude which paved the way for the acceptance of the truth when it was presented to me in the form of Christian Science. Not that I identified it at once as the truth. My long years of acceptance of ecclesiastical lore manifested itself in the hauteur of a self-evolved philosophy, which was not corrected until in obedience to the "still small voice" I saw, though faintly, the way Christ comes today. This was accomplished through a healing.

The Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, came into our home because of the sickness of a member of the family, which was pronounced by doctors to be beyond medical aid. It fell to my lot to read, and endeavor to explain this new teaching, to the one in need. This relative was quickly restored through Christian Science treatment.
