I am glad to avail myself of the great privilege of expressing some of the gratitude I feel for Christian Science, and trust that to relate a little of what it has done for me may help others to rely upon it.

When I was in the depths of mental despair, the healing power of Christian Science lifted me from bondage to freedom, from darkness into light, and from sickness to health and joyous activity.

Years ago I was taken suddenly ill and was unable to walk. The advice of three specialists was sought, and each diagnosed the case differently. The advice of the last one was that I take medicine and tablets for at least a year and then see how I was. For four months I was confined to my home, spending most of the time in bed. As the time went on I lost all confidence in the specialist and his medicine, because instead of beginning to improve I steadily grew worse, and was finally told that nothing more could be done for me, but that I must persevere with the medicine. Soon the stage was reached where I felt near to passing on. A friend said, "Since you have been told that nothing more can be done for you, why not try to see if Christian Science will heal you?" I readily consented, and this friend arranged for a practitioner to visit me. After the treatment I slept, and on awakening felt that a change was taking place. The next morning I was able to arise from bed and walk a few steps to the telephone and speak to the practitioner.
