Enough for Today
Though
grave may seem the issues that confront us,
They but compel us to the upward way;
And we can learn the lessons that they teach us
Because God gives us wisdom for today.
Though we must meet the ever-mounting challenge
Of evil's multiplying claims to power,
Yet we can stand unmoved in this assurance,
God girds us with new strength for every hour.
And as we learn the power of true compassion
To break the dream of error's vaunted might,
Yea, to forgive as we would be forgiven,
We turn our faces upward to the light.
O Love divine, whose mercy never faileth,
O Truth, whose strength is equal to the test,
O Life, omnipotent and all-sustaining,
In Thee is our dominion, and our rest.
