Many times I have felt the desire to express my gratitude...
Many times I have felt the desire to express my gratitude for the many blessings received through the study of Christian Science. It brought me out of mental darkness and healed me physically after the doctor had said that only an operation could save me. I turned absolutely to God for my healing, and in about three months was completely healed.
With this healing came a wonderful sense of spiritual awakening and a desire to know more about God and man's relationship to Him. Peace took the place of worry and fear in my thought, and in my heart there was a song of joy not known before. A sense of depression, which had been with me from childhood, was also healed. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." I saw this statement in a different light, as meaning that when I dwelt in the Christ-consciousness I could not condemn others; that I could see nothing in them to condemn. This passage of Scripture has often come to me when I have been tempted to criticize.
Some time ago my two sons and I started on a trip to the mountains. The weather had been very dry, clay dust having settled on the road. It began to rain slowly. As we started down a steep hill, the car skidded. When I saw that we were going over the embankment, I declared aloud that God was with us. The car seemed to be flooded with light. It turned over twice and landed on a boulder. We got out and found that none of us had received a scratch, although the windshield and windows were smashed and considerable damage done to the car. Witnesses of the occurrence declared that our escape was a miracle. It was a most glorious proof of God's protecting power.
