"As to the Lord"

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Colossians showing the need for conscientious sincerity in all service, admonished them as follows, "Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ," One who understands this assurance, "Ye serve the Lord Christ," performs the various tasks of the daily round with grace and gratitude, thus bringing into his experience the joy of loving service to God and his fellow man.

Christian Science, the new-old gospel revealed in this age by Mary Baker Eddy, brings to light the law and Science whereby such great spiritual truths are made available to the sincere seeker here and now. The spiritual illumination gained by the study and application of Christian Science uplifts thought and harmonizes the experience of the student. Christian Science is an eternal Science, which defines existence in terms of spiritual reality. It reveals the perfection of the real man, to be recognized and demonstrated now. Thus the regenerative message of Christian Science enters into daily living, healing and saving mankind from the beliefs of materiality.

Christian Science rests upon the sure foundation which Christ Jesus revealed when he said. "I and my Father are one." To recognize man's spiritual oneness with God restores the true sense of dominion which was divinely bestowed on man. Obviously, one whose consciousness is flooded with spiritual truth sees that God, good, reigns supreme because there is no other power. He rejoices that "all things work together for good to them that love God." He sees in every human task an opportunity to manifest qualities which reflect divine Mind, such as orderliness, cheerfulness, graciousness, wisdom, and so on. Approaching every task with the purpose of demonstrating the truth, one masters the situation. This attitude yields a satisfying, progressive, and useful experience, because it brings the proof of oneness with God.
