Among the Churches

Current Notes

New Castle Courier-Times

New Castle, Indiana (First Church). —On Sunday, October 27, 1940, just ten years after occupancy of the present church building, First Church of Christ, Scientist, New Castle, was dedicated, two identical services being held in the morning and afternoon. The Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly was read at each service, the subject being "Probation after Death." The Golden Text was from Galatians. "Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

When a Christian Science church is dedicated, it is an indication that the edifice is entirely free of debt, and so the occasion on Sunday was one of celebration for the local congregation. A dedication statement was read at the services. — New Castle Courier-Times.
