Christian Science was brought to my attention about thirty-five years ago, when my wife was suffering from an injury to her knee, caused by a fall down a flight of stairs. A doctor, who had treated her for several weeks, claimed that water had settled in her knee, and that she should get an elastic sleeve for it, for protection and support. When she was about to buy this sleeve, a friend met her and advised her not to buy it but to try Christian Science. She kindly gave us some copies of the Journal and Sentinel to read and invited us to go to church, which we did. The injury was completely healed in a short time.

During the first Wednesday evening meeting which I attended, I was healed of profanity, and later of the use of intoxicating drinks.

My first physical healing was that of my ankle, which was severely sprained while I was at work. I was barely able to get home without help. After reading some articles in the Sentinel, I went to bed. When I awoke in the morning, I was unable to stand up. I asked for Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and began to read. In about fifteen minutes I asked my wife to get breakfast, because I was going to work. When I came home for lunch, she asked me about my foot, and I found I had forgotten all about it.
