My first testimony was published some years ago, but...

My first testimony was published some years ago, but since that time many beautiful manifestations of God's love have come to me, and the more recent of these I should like to share.

I am especially grateful for a healing of warts through the work of a loving and consecrated Christian Science practitioner. This healing did not occur until I recognized that, in my eagerness to know what unlovely thoughts or traits were causing the erroneous condition, I was giving the difficulty the semblance of reality. I was looking for an actual mental cause to cast out, until I was led to see that one need neither know nor recognize unreality as either cause or effect.

From a little child I was afraid of heights and occasionally had nightmares relative to climbing hills. This terror was unreasoning, but I did not face it or really strive to overcome it until, as a young woman, I moved into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. On my first camping trip the mental work done greatly lessened the fear, and on the second trip the demonstration was complete. I had prayed for guidance in finding a lost trail down a mountain, but when we were led to it the descent presented to me a terrible aspect, for it was not only high, but as steep as seemed possible. We had to return to camp and pack, so I had ample opportunity for prayer, even for a brief reading in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Then, when we started down the mountain, these words from the epistle to the Romans came to thought with ineffable tenderness: "Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God." I rode down experiencing a buoyant joy I had never before known in such measure. Since then I have been on greater heights and steeper slopes with perfect poise, happiness, and gratitude.
