Words could never express my gratitude for Christian Science. My parents were students of this Science before I was born, and from the time I was old enough, I attended the Christian Science Sunday School. I have experienced many healings of various kinds, having depended exclusively on the power of God as revealed by Mrs. Eddy in our textbook, Science and Health.

When I was three years old I was completely healed of pneumonia in less than a week. When I was twelve years old I was taken with diphtheria. There was an epidemic in the city and many children passed on. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and within two weeks I was playing out in the yard; within a month I was back at school. I suffered no aftereffects from this experience.

In later life, some twenty years ago, I was employed by a railroad company in a small town at the time of a great oil boom. It was during a very cold winter and I was not used to cold weather, nor to doing outdoor work. I was employed to perform work exclusively on the outside. The snow and sleet were piled high around the buildings, and icicles hung from all the box cars. On account of lack of hotel accomodations, room rent was from twenty dollars a day and up; therefore the railroad company fitted up some old passenger coaches for us to sleep in. These were heated in a manner, but far from adequately.
