"In the name of the Lord"

[Written Especially for Young People]

All through our school days, emphasis is placed by our friends, teachers, and parents upon the preparation we are receiving for our work in life.

When Mary Baker Eddy gave what she terms the first tenet of Christian Science, she must have realized humanity's great need of guidance. She says (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 497), "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life." It is this same Word which David said was "a lamp" unto one's feet and "a light" unto one's path.

Our guide, our standard of values, is, then, never dependent upon human opinions, circumstances, or events, but upon our spiritual sense, which enables us to understand the Scriptural records, showing as they do the inevitable triumph of good, and teaching us how to apply these lessons in our own experience.
