Often in the Wednesday evening testimony meetings one hears, "Words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science." That is the way I also feel, but I should like to testify as well as I can to the wonderful things that have been revealed to me through this Science.

I was brought up in a Christian home, my father being an Episcopal minister and my mother a true helpmeet to him. Both were much beloved wherever they went. This made me very contented in my own church. However, about five years ago, my husband and I came to deep waters, and he expressed a desire to attend a Christian Science church. I was so happy that he wished to go that I said, "I can worship anywhere," and went with him. At first I felt resentful and critical, but as we continued to go I saw the sincerity of those who attended, and how many came thirsting for true knowledge of God.

When we had been attending the Christian Science church for about a year, our eighteen-year-old son became very ill with every evidence of scarlet fever. The condition was so terrifying that I knew we must have help immediately. With my son's approval, I called a Christian Science practitioner. Before the practitioner came, the boy could not eat, and only with great difficulty could he swallow orange juice. An hour or two after the first treatment he said he was hungry and ate dinner. I thought of Jesus' healing of the child, when he "commanded that something should be given her to eat." In five days our son went back to work. There were no aftereffects and no period of recuperation.
