"The true incentive"

WE find the rules which enable us to become demonstrators of divine law as we study the Bible in the light of Christian Science, and dig deeply into the profound truths set forth in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other works by Mary Baker Eddy. This study is essential, for we must absorb these truths until we realize that they are indeed an integral part of our very selfhood. We prove through healing that we understand the truth; and Mrs. Eddy states (ibid., p. 454), "Love for God and man is the true incentive in both healing and teaching."

To begin to know God scientifically is to love God as the divine Principle of all that really exists. With this understanding, thought glows with spiritual light, which enables the individual to place all confidence in the Supreme Being.

The world has been given a clear answer to the question, "What is God?" in the Christian Science textbook; and in proportion as this revelation is understood it will outshine all earth's shadows. But the question, "What is God?" can be answered in individual consciousness only through positive demonstration and steady spiritual growth.
