I have been receiving the blessings of Christian Science, in proportion to my obedience to its laws, for about sixteen years. Due to stubborn self-will, most of my healings have been slow, but great good has accrued to me during these periods of seeming waiting. When Truth has finally been perceived acknowledged, false beliefs have vanished, and joy and spiritual understanding have followed.

My first experience with Christian Science was through a practitioner to whom I went in search of help in finding a position. After one or two visits the problem was solved and a position obtained. I was also healed at the same time of the smoking habit, although this was not at any time mentioned by either the practitioner or by me. These healings were accomplished so simply that I did not at once realize that God's law had been working in my behalf.

It was not long before I decided to leave my position because I did not consider that I was being properly paid for my services. No attempt was made to invoke God's law in my behalf; I felt I could handle the situation without help. There followed nearly five years of struggle; lack in almost every form was manifested, the desire to smoke returned, and a serious physical ailment developed. In desperation I again turned to Christian Science for help, but it was until I humbly listened for God's voice that I was finally led to retrace my steps and seek my original position. It was waiting for me, and as a result of my obedience in returning to it, my blessings from that time came in great abundance. Among them was admission to The Mother Church and the feeling that I was a part of the Christian Science movement.
