Sometimes there are experiences in our journey from sense to Soul where there seems to be no visible evidence of advancement or healing. But the light of Truth, gained from the study of our textbooks, brightens the way and leads to greater heights in the understanding of God and His perfect creation.

Mortal mind may whisper that our work has continued for a week, a month, or a year, and yet the condition seems unimproved. This is only a temptation to make us lessen our efforts, to turn back, or possibly to stop the work. The darkness has no power to hamper our right efforts or to obstruct or slacken our progress. This is the time to go forward, and added, persistent effort will carry thought beyond error into the broad sunlight of complete healing, as the following experience will indicate.

One day a splinter entered the palm of our young son's hand. We removed it easily and thought no more about it. Within a short time the forefinger swelled and appeared infected. Two Christian Science treatments were given, and the finger appeared to be normal, but a few days later we noticed that a hard lump had formed on the side of the finger.
