In my travel from sense to Soul, I have innumerable times found faith, hope, and encouragement through the inspiring testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel. It therefore becomes my duty to bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science.

After suffering for several years from kidney stones, which persistent medical treatment and surgical operations had failed to heal, I was led to Christian Science. Through the help of a practitioner I was quickly healed of this sickness. I was in the navy when the healing took place. A board of medical doctors had recommended me to be released from the service as incurable, but my changed condition was immediately so noticeable that I was permitted to return to duty at a shore station. I remained in the service for nine years after my healing. The physical examination required at certain periods during these nine years revealed my physical condition to be normal. But there were many conditions to be rectified, false appetites to be overcome, demoralizing habits to be eliminated, unlovely traits to be discarded. Christian Science, step by step, eliminated these unlovely traits from my consciousness.

My gratitude to Christ Jesus for his life of demonstration, and to Mary Baker Eddy for giving to us her revelation and explanation of Jesus' work knows no bounds. In Revelation we read that "the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." To me the Bible, the writings of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, together with the Christian Science periodicals, are "the leaves of the tree," which, if we use them daily, will heal all our diseases.
