Rock

Who builds on earthly hopes, builds all in vain,
For every wrong desire brings troubled care,
And fleeting joys reward again in pain;
These are the dreams that lead to dark despair.

Who builds upon the rock of Christ, builds strong;
Unmoved amid the tempest's rise and fall,
Knowing that error cannot stand for long
Against the power of Truth, for God is All.
