Our Silent Messengers

A Subject dear to the heart of every Christian Scientist is the circulation and promotion of our literature. Circulation is just another name for activity, in this case the orderly, continuous, and concerted movement of the various periodicals which our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has instituted as authorized messengers to carry the "good tidings of great joy" to all parts of the world.

Other religious organizations have their personal missionaries, consecrated men and women, but the periodicals are ours. Our friends in the so-called orthodox churches would not bid their emissaries go forth upon their holy work without adequate means to sustain them in it; nor do we. Our supply, however, is not of a financial nature only. It includes also a generous measure of constructive spiritual thinking. which speeds them on their journey. In every branch of The Mother Church there are faithful and devoted workers who are making every effort, under divine direction, to pave the way for these impersonal messengers by giving them the mental support which they so richly deserve. This metaphysical work, of course, comes first, as our circulation committees are well aware. While it is not for the writer to outline for anyone else what his proper mental approach should be, it may not be out of order to touch upon a few points which naturally present themselves for consideration.

Since circulation means activity, and activity is an attribute of divine Mind, circulation must be, and is, ever active, ever present, ever effective, and ever successful in all its operations. The stately processes of divine Mind know no interference, brook no delay. The ceaseless activity of good cannot be interrupted by any phase of human opposition or antagonism, nor can it ever fall short of its divinely directed purpose, for every idea of Mind carries with it its own power of accomplishment. Since it is ever at one with the source of all true being, it possesses God-given authority to over-come any destructive argument of mortal mind which would challenge its right-of-way and attempt to obstruct its progress. Our authorized Christian Science literature is Love's message to humanity, and Love takes care of it at all times; and Love also takes care of those who are engaged in the joyous work of making it available to those who need it. Let us never forget that the message protects the messenger.
