Die Transvaler,

In a recent issue a clergyman is reported as saying that "Freemasons may be classified with Spiritualists, Theosophists, Christian Scientists, Buddhists, and Mohammedans in that they reject the Christ, and practice a religion which is sinful and does not save mankind."

Christian Science in no way resembles the movements mentioned, and does not reject Christ.

The aim of every Christian Scientist is to follow in the steps of the Master, and to practice the Christianity he taught, healing the sick and regenerating mankind.

One of the Tenets of Christian Science, which is to be found on page 497 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, reads as follows, and may serve to make clear what Christian Science stands for: "We acknowledge Jesus' atonement as the evidence of divine, efficacious Love, unfolding man's unity with God through Christ Jesus the Way-shower; and we acknowledge that man is saved through Christ, through Truth, Life, and Love as demonstrated by the Galilean Prophet in healing the sick and overcoming sin and death."
