Before I began to study Christian Science I had been...
Before I began to study Christian Science I had been told about its wonderful teachings by several friends, but at that time I was quite satisfied with my lot, for I seemed to have everything necessary to my happiness, including a good home and the love and companionship of a dear husband.
Then came a time when I found myself deprived of all these things, and I was a broken-hearted woman with, as I then thought, nothing left to live for. In my great grief I prayed to God to help me, and I was guided to telephone a friend who is an earnest Christian Scientist. She realized my need and recommended a visit to a practitioner. I followed her advice, and I am indeed grateful for the faithful work of the practitioner to whom I went, who set me on my journey from sense to Soul.
I am writing this testimony in the hope that it will comfort someone who has the same problem to meet, for in the early days of my study, nearly nine years ago, I searched the literature for testimonies which had any mention of domestic trouble in them. I take this opportunity to assure others that when Christian Science is rightly applied, and we are willing to abandon our own plans, then God will guard and guide us, and show us the pathway to peace and happiness, as He did me.
