When I was a newcomer to the Christian Science services, I was privileged to experience for myself God's power and blessing. For years I had suffered severely. My tonsils had grown together and the pharyngeal cavity was lopsided and distorted. Our doctor did not want to undertake an operation, for he believed I could not recover from such a severe one.

I attended the Christian Science church afflicted with this trouble. During one of the services the tonsils seemed to discharge, and my throat became normal and healthy. This was my first great healing and blessing during a Christian Science service.

A short time afterwards I was sick and in great pain, and had a high fever. In my anxiety I went to a kind Christian Science practitioner, who helped me at once. While we were working together in prayer, knowing ourselves to be one with our Father-Mother God, the creative power, the healing came instantaneously.
