To God; to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower; and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave Christian Science to the world, I am most grateful.

I feel compelled to write and tell of the wonderful healing which I received through Christian Science about eight years ago. Before that time I had been ailing constantly since my fourteenth year. I apparently hurt my back through a fall, while doing gymnastics with my class in high school. The cause was unknown otherwise, but ever after that time I complained to my parents about backaches. We had several physicians, and X rays of every description were taken, and we were finally told that an abscess had formed over the kidneys. I was conscious of severe pain, which seemed to recur every spring and fall. This ailment took such hold of me that I felt paralyzed from my hips down. I had several operations, became very tired and weary, and had given up all hope of ever being healthy and happy again.

The quotation, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," seemed to fit my case at the time, for just then a friend in my sister's office spoke to her of Christian Science, and we immediately got in touch with a practitioner. After two visits I was healed, and I can never be grateful enough. I am now in excellent health. I have since married and am the mother of two boys, whose births took place under Christian Science, with the help of the same practitioner. I can truly say that both babies came so naturally and quickly that the attending physician was amazed. The second birth was practically painless.
