There is much in a lecture reported in a recent issue with which students of Christian Science are in hearty agreement. (See Chapter V, entitled "Animal Magnetism Unmasked" in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.)

I trust, however, you will grant me space to correct the erroneous association of Christian Science with magic, incantations, formulas, and such like. Christian Science teaches reliance on and intelligent application of divine Principle. That Principle is unalterable Love, the Love which Christ Jesus revealed and demonstrated, and which he taught his followers of all time.

Christian Science is based on divine Principle and its rules, which are available to all, and demonstrated in proportion to the student's understanding and obedience. The pure, childlike thought can demonstrate Christian Science quite naturally. Being a religion of unselfish love, it is purifying human consciousness, and the practice of its teachings will eventually end all human strife.
