Frequently I have been uplifted and inspired by the testimonies in our periodicals. Therefore, I should seem as ungrateful as the nine lepers who failed to acknowledge the healing power of Truth, were I not publicly to express my boundless gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought to our family.

I first came in contact with this Science more than twenty-five years ago, when visiting in the home of a dear relative, who was living her religion. A few years later, although I had what the world calls health and happiness, I saw my need for spirituality. I can never be grateful enough for seeing at that time that the study of Christian Science would supply my need, for soon thereafter I married, and in due course had a little family of three. As soon as the children could talk and walk they were enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School, and now, grown to young manhood and womanhood, they continue to apply their understanding of Truth with fine results.

We have proved that the understanding of Christian Science acts as both a preventive and a curative. On many automobile trips, we have been protected when unexpected conditions arose which threatened harm. When my son was quite young, he was healed of a tendency to frequent colds. This healing came when my resentment at the difficulty was replaced with the joyous realization that man's "birthrightis dominion, not subjection," as Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 518 of Science and Health.

I was healed of a severe physical difficulty of many months' duration. A doctor was called by a loved member of the family who was not relying on Christian Science, and the doctor could neither diagnose the trouble nor prescribe a remedy. Christian Science help was asked for at the outset, and I shall never forget the patience and love expressed by the consecrated practitioner. This was indeed a testing time, but, as always, Truth prevailed. Later I had the added joy of having the doctor's wife tell me that Christian Science alone had brought about the healing.

Class instruction is treasured as one of my richest blessings, for as a result of the revelation and inspiration of that experience, I have been able to make my understanding of Christian Science much more practical.

This Science has enabled me to be a better mother, a more loving wife, a kinder neighbor; and it has expanded my thought so that I now try to include all mankind in my right thinking. It has brought more of heaven into our home. For such blessings, only daily purification of thought and action can show forth my heartfelt gratitude. My testimony would be incomplete without an expression of deep and abiding gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy, who made possible these rich blessings.
