In the report of an address which appeared recently in your paper, a clergyman infers that Christian Scientists ignore evil. A Christian Scientist does not ignore sin, sickness, or pain. His work is to destroy these errors.

A mathematician would not ignore a mistake in mathematics, nor would he affirm that the mistake was a reality, but he would correct it by his knowledge of the rules of mathematics. In like manner, a Christian Scientist regenerates the sinner and heals the sick through the utilization of the law of God.

We read in the first chapter of Genesis that God made man in His own image and likeness; and saw everything that He had made, and pronounced it good. And in John's Gospel we are told that "all things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

So if all that God made was good, then sin, sickness, and disease, not being good, are not the realities, but the unrealities of existence.

Mrs. Eddy states on page 474 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "If sin, sickness, and death are as real as Life, Truth, and Love, then they must all be from the same source; God must be their author. Now Jesus came to destroy sin, sickness, and death; yet the Scriptures aver, 'I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.' Is it possible, then, to believe that the evils which Jesus lived to destroy are real or the offspring of the divine will?"

Our Master, Christ Jesus, said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also."

We can rejoice that by following in the footsteps of Christ Jesus we are enabled to overcome all those things which the reverend gentleman avers "have their origin in the power of darkness."

When humanity gains the understanding of God's allness, then they will be able to see the unreality of evil, and bring about the kingdom of God on earth.
