Although most wonderful cases of healing are continually being accomplished by Christian Science, they are not miraculous, because they are the outcome of a scientific understanding of the nature of God as infinite good, and man as His image and likeness. "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness."

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494): "The miracle of grace is no miracle to Love. Jesus demonstrated the inability of corporeality, as well as the infinite ability of Spirit, thus helping erring human sense to flee from its own convictions and seek safety in divine Science. Reason, rightly directed, serves to correct the errors of corporeal sense; but sin, sickness, and death will seem real (even as the experiences of the sleeping dream seem real) until the Science of man's eternal harmony breaks their illusion with the unbroken reality of scientific being."

Nor has Christian Science anything to do with "faith-healing," as commonly understood, and "suggestion." These are not related to Christian Science, but are phases of the human mind. We must rise above the beliefs of the human mind, and understand and use divine Mind, the Mind referred to by Paul: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." In "Rudimental Divine Science" Mrs. Eddy defines Christian Science (p. 1) as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony."
