Christ's Eternal Presence
Christian Science distinguishes between Jesus and the Christ, which he represented, and whose healing power he demonstrated. When Christ, Truth, is received into one's consciousness, one begins to perceive the eternal unity of God and man. Then it must in due course follow that burdens vanish, sickness drops away, blind eyes are opened, death is overcome, for the Science of Christianity is demonstrated. Man, as God's expression, eternally retains dominion over all. God and man, God's infinite idea, are forever one.
Mary Baker Eddy says (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 332, 333), "Christ illustrates the coincidence, or spiritual agreement, between God and man in His image." Christ, Truth, lives throughout eternity, and even in our darkest moments we can never stray beyond this presence. As Paul says, "Your life is hid with Christ in God."
The truth is sung from the Christian Science Hymnal:
