Since infancy I have known no other physician than...
Since infancy I have known no other physician than divine Love and have had no other religious training than that of Christian Science. It is with heartfelt gratitude that I herein testify to the many blessings which have come to me through the study and application of the truth.
Although when I was born my mother was a comparatively new student of Christian Science, she clung steadfastly to its teachings in all the problems that presented themselves in the ensuing years. Through her complete reliance upon Christian Science, together with the help of a practitioner, I was healed of scarlet fever and infantile paralysis at the age of three. Although to sense testimony the case was severe and the opinion had been expressed that if I lived I should be hopelessly crippled, the healing was complete in about eight weeks. One of my earliest memories is of the daily visits of the kindly practitioner who helped us through that testing time.
As soon as I was old enough I was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School, and remained in attendance in the various cities of our residence until I reached the age of twenty. I shall always be grateful for the many lessons learned in Sunday school, and for the sure foundation for daily application of the truth which I received there.
