[Original testimony in German]

In Matthew we read, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Since I began to seek the kingdom of God, much has indeed been added to me. I was an ardent smoker, a fettered slave to tobacco, having often tried to give up this habit, but without result. Thanks to the wonderful teaching of Christian Science and the daily reading of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, I was entirely freed from these material fetters. I was also healed of lumbago, to which I had previously been subject each winter. A problem on which I had worked in Christian Science, having help now and then, was wonderfully solved after two years and a half of patient, trustful waiting.

I am sincerely grateful to our Father-Mother God for these blessings. I am also exceedingly grateful that He gave me courage and confidence to wait patiently, for it says in Lamentations, "It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord." I thank God for all these glorious proofs, also for having led me to Christian Science. Daily I think of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, with much gratitude, and I am very grateful to the practitioner for her loving help. I am also grateful for membership in a branch church.
