Since I was a child I have known only the privileges and protection of a Christian Science home, as my parents took up the study of Christian Science when I was very young. From that time until I went away to school, I knew nothing but radical reliance on God as the only Physician. Later, in my experience away from home, I had to learn to prove this truth for myself, to take my own stand instead of relying on my family.

I have experienced many wonderful healings in Christian Science. Tonsillitis, which I had had several years, was quickly and permanently healed; also sick headaches, strained ligaments, constipation, and influenza have been proved unreal and therefore untrue in my experience.

I have had many beautiful proofs of God's loving care, provision, and protection in my business experience. For several years my work required almost continual traveling. In addition to my own mental work, daily work for protection was done for me by a member of my family. During the entire period I was never delayed for more than two or three hours because of traffic mishaps or accidents. I was wonderfully protected in being guided to change my route several times. At one time I was scheduled to sail on a certain boat, but at the last minute I was detained and had to take a later boat. The boat I was scheduled to sail on, and had missed, went down.
