It is with a deep sense of gratitude and a desire to help...
It is with a deep sense of gratitude and a desire to help others that I send this testimony. I had attended the Christian Science church for only a short time, and had a very slight understanding of the truth, when my young son was afflicted with a bladder weakness which was very annoying. Through the loving work of a practitioner this disappeared in one treatment. Each year as the cold weather came on he would have swelling of the glands in his throat, run a high temperature, and become delirious. One evening, while he was in this condition, I asked the practitioner if she would come to us, which she did. She sat beside his bed for a few moments; he became quiet, fell asleep, and slept all night. In the morning he awoke healed, and never since has he had the least sign of this trouble, although eighteen years have elapsed.
Some years later my daughter had a growth on the sole of her foot. As she was old enough to know what kind of treatment she wished, she decided that she would have a doctor apply a local anesthetic and remove the growth. She had to remain in bed for one week; after that time she went back to the office, and before long the growth appeared again in exactly the same place. Then she was ready to rely on God. Help in Christian Science was asked for and in a short time the growth fell off, and there was not even the slightest mark left on her foot.
I am so grateful to God for the many additional healings we have experienced, some through the help of practitioners and some through our own understanding of this wonderful truth. Also, I am grateful for Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, for all of the Christian Science activities, for daily protection, and for the spiritual uplift received through the study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings.
